A spate of burglaries has taken place in Masterton recently.
Makoura College was broken into at the weekend but nothing was taken. Senior Sergeant Warwick Burr said those responsible had used rocks from a garden to gain entry but the alarm had sounded and they did not go in. The attempted burglary was reported to police last Friday morning .
Two laptops were stolen from York St Kindergarten on Sunday. Mr Burr said entry had been gained at 5.30pm.
"It looks like entry was gained through a window ... [we're] unsure if it was open or not beforehand," he said.
On Monday, four youths were dealt with by police after they tried to take a quad bike and a ride-on lawn mower from the Masterton rubbish dump.
