Thieves grab $15,000 haul

About $15,000 worth of products was stolen from the Stihl Shop in Greytown on Monday night.

Four chainsaws, two scrub saws and a selection of high-viz clothing were stolen from the store, said Jeremy Sharp, the owner of Stihl Shop Greytown and Masterton.

Mr Sharp discovered the break-in when he arrived on Tuesday morning to open the shop.

Burglars had levered the front door off and "stolen to order," he said.

"It was on the main street, it was pretty blatant.

"What was going through their minds in the first place?"

It was not the first time one of his stores had been burgled, this was the third incident.

Chainsaws were stolen as they could be sold on fairly easily, Mr Sharp said.

"It's incredibly frustrating."

He said there were no leads yet.
