Police are looking for a man who broke into a Queenstown hotel room in the dead of night while two women were asleep inside, stealing cash and making off with it.
The man, who is thought to be in his early 20s, entered the Holiday Inn hotel room about 4.30 this morning.
He woke one of the women during the theft, leaving her uninjured but shaken by the experience.
The second woman was also shaken by what had happened, police said.
The man left the room and one of the women discovered an amount of cash missing.
The man is described as short with a slim build, black hair, dark eyes and dark skin, wearing dark clothing.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting this description in the vicinity of the Holiday Inn at around 4.30am this morning, or anyone who has information that might assist with the investigation.
