A fallen-from-grace pageant contestant has failed to turn up for community service after stealing nearly $7000 from her former employer.
Vicky Lee Cox, 28, who has competed in Miss Auckland and Miss Howick pageants, stole money while working as a receptionist at Botany Junction Medical Centre in South Auckland. Her boss discovered the cash was missing two days before Christmas in 2008.
She was sentenced to 200 hours' community service in March but appeared in court again in May and September because she had failed to show up to do the work.
Cox recently featured in a pilot for a reality TV show NZ's Sexiest Girl.
This month in a publicity interview on TV3's The Jono Show, Cox said she should win the competition "because I'm hot and I have attitude and I'm a good person".
