KEY POINTS:
Thick fog this morning caused flight delays at Dunedin International Airport for the second consecutive day.
Airport company chief executive John McCall said aircraft kept overnight at the airport were able to leave this morning, but incoming flights were delayed.
One direct flight from Auckland had landed in Christchurch and was waiting for the fog to lift.
Mr McCall said it was a clear day in Dunedin city, but the Taieri Plain was covered in fog. It was expected to lift before noon.
Four flights were affected by fog yesterday, with some Dunedin-bound passengers flown on to Invercargill and bussed back north.
