A man who abused and beat his partner because his shoes weren't where he thought they would be has been ordered to undergo anger management treatment.
Tony James Dennison, 27, appeared in the Masterton District Court on Thursday for sentencing after earlier pleading guilty to two counts of assaulting a female and one of wilful damage.
Dennison, after being told his shoes were in another part of the house, bit the woman and struck and kicked her in the head in a P-induced rage, defence lawyer Jock Blathwayt said.
The victim accompanied Dennison to court and had written two letters in support of his attempts to change.
Judge Thomas Broadmore warned Dennison that he must continue treatment for his addictions and for anger management or he would be jailed.
The wilful damage charge related to Dennison breaking into the Masterton pound to retrieve his dog and he was ordered to pay $100 reparation for the damage caused.
