KEY POINTS:
Three teenagers have been charged with the theft of property from a woman, in prosecutions that may be related to the police's gang rape inquiry at Corsair Bay.
The three youths were on the list for appearances in Christchurch's main police court this morning, but only one appeared while two were granted registrar's remands without needing to go before a judge, Christchurch Court News website reported.
The police said last week that they had made two arrests of people charged with the theft of property from the complainant and the trio were due in the Christchurch District Court today.
They had earlier asked members of the public who were at Corsair Bay on November 16 to provide them with any photographs - particularly in the area of the raft - to assist with the sexual violation investigation.
Three youths, two aged 18 and one 17-year-old, were today charged with the theft of guitars, a lolly jar, frozen meat, compact disks, and a DVD, from the same woman on the day of the rape complaint. The total value of the items was $285.
One of the youths was remanded to December 18, and the other two were remanded to the following day. All are on bail.
