KEY POINTS:
There's a more expansive update already for the PS3 though it's only been out a short while in NZ. Updates to software - upscaling of video content to HD (looking good! Added print functionality with compatibility to network with PC media servers is a nice touch! Being remotely controlled over the internet by PSP and having just been released in a huge 110MB update for the PS3 system? That's an impressive turnaround!)
Whilst I was checking out the compatibility of the PS3 I found that an old 2005 programmable PC-USB game controller (similar to PS1's style and button mapping/layout) worked perfectly well with the PS3 and all the games I threw at it - aside from the lack of a 'Home' button. Now that is cool!
Not only can you play your PS2 games in the machine, after buying a memory card adaptor you can copy your games to the virtual memory cards on the PS3 hard drive. Whilst playing some digital media, I scanned my network for media servers and found I could load some of my media through to my PS3.
On top of all this, you can now attach a USB printer and print off your websites! A printer compatibility update is now required. What's next, a 'print every frame of my GT4 HD replay'?
Has anyone successfully connected up a wireless print/multifunction centre to the PS3? If the remote play is anything to go by, this thing rocks!
