He's W. Peters but he isn't Winston Peters, so don't phone him and don't send him mail.
Mt Maunganui's Wilhelmus Peters has been getting mail and phone calls for the New Zealand First leader since the change of Government two years ago and has even received inquiries from Australia.
The 85-year-old said he regularly had to take a trip to the Post Shop to return mail for the politician and reckoned it was about time Winston Peters made it clear to the public where he could be contacted. Even NZ Post had not been sure where to redirect the mail.
"Where does he live? Maybe the police can help. I'm annoyed," Wilhelmus Peters said.
"I understand Mr Peters is giving a speech in Tauranga on the 27th and I would go there and spit [my concerns] out to him. I don't have much time for politics," he told the Bay of Plenty Times.
While Mr Peters of Mt Maunganui has followed Mr Peters the politician over the years, he is not a fan.
"He is against immigrants," said the former farmer who moved to New Zealand from Holland 55 years ago and is a National Party supporter.
According to the White Pages, there are only two W. Peters in the Tauranga area. The other is in Otumoetai and is female. Her husband said they had not had the same problem.
Winston Peters lives and works in Auckland. He could not be contacted for comment yesterday.
