Harry Paniona took to a poker machine with an axe yesterday to help smash the gambling habit.
The big hit was a feature of Gamble-free Day in Manukau City - part of a street theatre performance in Manukau Square aimed at reducing the number of people playing the pokies.
The square has been a regular venue for demonstrations of the destructiveness of problem gambling.
