Maori musician and former Makoura College boy Matiu Te Huki will be coming back to his roots tomorrow when he returns to Masterton to play for the Matariki Celebration concert at Masterton's King St Live.
"I'm really excited to come home to such an amazing venue for such a special concert," he said.
"Warren Maxwell [King St co-owner] is one of my most inspiring and successful NZ musicians. He and his partner Ange are a powerhouse team and the Wairarapa music scene is blessed they've created a first-class venue that is already drawing some of Aotearoa's best music acts.
"I'll be opening with some of my soulful roots then lifting into some Friday night booty shaking goodness. It'd be lovely to see the whanau there."
Te Huki has performed with Fat Freddy's Drop, Rhombus, Pitch Black, Tiki Taane, Anika Moa and other top New Zealand artists.
