The restyled Honda Jazz has just gone on sale in New Zealand, with fresh new colours, styling tweaks inside and out, and an improved list of standard features, including electronic stability control.
It also comes with a Euro-NCAP five-star crash rating.
The four-model range is powered by a choice of two engines from Honda's i-VTEC family: a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder delivering 73kW and 127nm and mated to either a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic gearbox; or a 1.5-litre unit putting out 88kW and 145nm and tied to a five-speed auto.
Prices for the 1.3-litre Jazz start at $24,700 for the standard "S" with five-speed manual gearbox through to the $31,490 for the swept-up S Sport Auto with spoiler and alloys. The 1.5-litre model comes in at $31,200.
Honda is making much of the versatility of the Jazz, respected for its every-which-way interior packaging.
It comes with a town-and-around fuel economy of 5.8 litres/100km and 5.18 litres/100km for the manual "S", 6.6 litres/100km for the automatic "S" and 6.7 litres/100km for the 1.5-litre model.
Those are Australian-sourced figures, based on Australian Design Rule tests across the Ditch.
Honda New Zealand tested the Jazz on an Auckland-Taupo-Auckland run and claimed economy of 4.99 litres/100km for the 1.3-litre manual, 4.85 litres/100km for the 1.3-litre auto and 5.18 litres/100km for the 1.5-litre unit.
That's an overall average fuel consumption of around 55mpg.
The Honda Jazz has a fresh look.
