KEY POINTS:
The Herald is asking high-profile people about their environmental friendliness.
This Week: TV3 Campbell Live reporter Jaquie Brown
What are you doing personally to make a difference?
I use the green bags when shopping instead of getting plastic bags, because plastic bags are evil.
Because I've only just started doing this I have a surplus of plastic bags at home so I'm recycling them and using them as rubbish bags as much as possible.
I've got five green bags and a big blue one for cold goods.
I'm trying to take the car less.
I turn off lights and power when I'm not using them. In the past I would have kept them on.
What more could you do?
Shorter showers. Just again being really aware of waste.
Looking at the number of things that we dispose of that we don't need to, making sure that I don't just throw it out, that I look at it and go, "Could this be recycled?', 'Could I give to someone?" rather than bunging it in the bin.
I think we tend to think "out of sight, out of mind", but it's about being a little bit more thoughtful about what that really means.
What is your biggest environmental sin?
I'd say my car, because it's an old 1988 BMW. It's a really bad little thing.
When it's old, you know it wasn't made with the environment in mind, so it probably coughs out filth.
Global warming - true or false?
True. I believe what I'm told by Al Gore.
If we can do our bit then hopefully all won't be lost.
