It may have been the coldest night of the year for many New Zealanders but that didn't stop Kiwis braving the icy conditions to capture the perfect snap.
This morning early risers were me with frost, fog and icy conditions as temperatures dropped below freezing.
As Mt Cook dropped to-13C, Aucklanders were welcomed to its coldest day in two years with temperatures dropping to 1.4C.
Whangarei dropped to 2C while Christchurch was blasted with "freezing" fog and -4C. Dunedin dropped to -2C while Gisborne was the warmest place to be last night at a low of 5C.
Herald readers from around the country braved the elements to capture the frosty conditions.

Further up the country, Waikato residents felt the chill with water turning to ice and farmland turning to near ice skating rinks.
