Amazon.com has released its list of the 100 best books of 2007.
The list was picked by the editors of the popular American consumer website and has been an annual tradition for the past eight years. Heading the list is A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, author of The Kite Runner.
The top 10 were:

7. Tree of Smoke: A Novel - Denis Johnson
8. A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier - Ishmael Beah
9. Better: A Surgeon's Notes on Performance - Atul Gawande
10. I Am America (And So Can You!) - Stephen Colbert
A list of Amazon.com's top 100 bestsellers for 2007 has also been released. Predictably, the biggest selling book on the site over the past year was the final book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling.
