Thames Coromandel Mayor Philippa Barriball has been cleared of alleged wrongdoing after applying for subdivision of her property and then voting on a proposed amendment to the rule in the District Plan she partly applied under.
The Office of the Auditor-General found it was "possible but unlikely" the Mayor breached section 6 (1) of the Local Authorities Act by discussing and voting on a proposed amendment to a rule in the District Plan a day after applying for subdivision of her property in February.
