The fire of a Coromandel holiday home is being treated as suspicious, fire investigators have confirmed.
Fire northern communications shift manager Paul Radden said fire appliances from Thames, Puriri and Tapu were called to the blaze just before 6am today.
They arrived to find the house on Thames Coast Rd at Waiomu well alight.
Waikato fire specialist investigator Kevin Holmes said the fire was being treated as suspicious.
He said the holiday home was empty when it caught fire.
