A man on the run after allegedly stabbing his ex-partner's new boyfriend in the stomach while on bail in Thames a week ago has been arrested.
Sean Osterman was found and arrested by police in south Auckland this morning, seven days after allegedly committing the stabbing, Detective John Adams of Thames CIB said.
Mr Adams said Osterman appeared in Manukau District Court today .
"He was charged with aggravated burglary, wounding with intent, male assaults female and breach of a protection order."
Police alleged Osterman broke into his former partner's home last Friday morning through a kitchen window and armed himself with three knives from the kitchen.
When confronted by the woman's current partner Osterman stabbed the victim in the stomach. The victim had to undergo surgery at Waikato Hospital.
