The Thai tiler in the Taito Phillip Field corruption court case is now seeking justice for himself.
Sunan Siriwan is appealing to the Immigration Minister for a permit to let his family live in New Zealand, saying he was a victim of the disgraced MP's corruption.
"He made an arrangement for me to do the tiling at his Samoan house, and he would issue me the resident visa so I could live in New Zealand," Siriwan said on TV One last night.
"At the time, we didn't realise the problems he was facing back in New Zealand. We were very upset about what happened, Taito would keep lying to us ... we're just looking for justice."
The family were deported from Samoa to Thailand, but the police brought them back to New Zealand last year to testify against Field.
The couple are on a limited purpose permit, which expires on August 28.
A spokesman for Associate Immigration Minister Kate Wilkinson says she will look at the family's case within the next two weeks.
