More people than ever are completing tertiary education.
About 128,000 gained qualifications last year, up 16 per cent on 2003.
Between 2000 and 2004 the number completing tertiary education increased 86 per cent.
In addition, last year a further 139,500 trainees were engaged in industry-based training, including 7200 modern apprentices.
