KEY POINTS:
Terri Irwin, the widow of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, is to visit New Zealand as part of G'Day NZ Australia Week.
The event, to be held in Auckland from April 24 until May 2, is one of a number of Tourism Australia "G'Day" initiatives held in various cities around the world each year.
Irwin said she was delighted to be part of the celebration of "mateship" between the two countries.
"Australia and New Zealand have traditionally shared very close links, yet there are things that set us apart and make us unique - Australia's wildlife experience being one of them," she said.
Irwin will make a special media appearance at the OZTalk Travel Expo to highlight unique nature-based experiences visitors can look forward to on an Australian holiday.
Vito Anzelmi, New Zealand Regional Manager for Tourism Australia, said the organisation was delighted Irwin would be participating in the event.
"With her knowledge of the country's wildlife and environment, she is a fantastic ambassador for Australia," Anzelmi said.
The free one-day travel expo will be held at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland on April 27.
