The mystery of the Temuka millionaires should be solved today after NZ Lotteries received a call from the winners of Saturday's first division draw.
A ticket bought in the small Canterbury town won $1,020,720 but nobody came forward, prompting a press release from NZ Lotteries asking where they were.
Scott Shannon, owner of the Take Note store where the ticket was sold, said the win had been the hot topic in the town of 4000.
A Lotteries spokeswoman today said the winners had finally calmed down enough to call and announce their windfall.
"They knew they were the winner, they were just too in shock to do anything about it for a few days," she said.
"Now we're just waiting for the official claim to come through."
