KEY POINTS:
More Kiwis are reading about current affairs and gossip, but it's what's on the box that has most of us engrossed.
SkyWatch and TV Guide have topped the latest magazine circulation figures, released by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) today.
Though the majority of titles surveyed show a decline in circulation, there were some standout exceptions to the trend.
The Australian Women's Weekly, New Zealand Woman's Weekly and New Idea all recorded increased circulation for the first half of this year.
Likewise, current affairs title North & South had a marked 4.5 per cent gain, bringing its total circulation to 31,640, while The Listener recorded a slight gain of just under one per cent.
Teen title Creme Magazine and wedding specialists Bride and Groom Magazine both recorded stellar growth, with gains of 20 per cent to their circulations in the past six months.
It isn't all good news for the industry though.
ACP Media title Fashion Quarterly continued its downward slide, shedding more than 2,500 readers over the past year.
Meanwhile, teen magazine Girlfriend recorded a loss of more than five per cent, its circulation dropping to 20,845.
