Telecommunications companies are being given a pat on the back for the way they are handling complaints.
The Telecommunication Dispute Resolution Scheme, which deals with complaints from customers of member companies, has released its first annual report.
The scheme's spokesman, David Russell, says members are taking complaints more seriously than they have in the past.
"What I'm impressed with is that they seem to have caught on to the fact that customers deserve service."
Mr Russell says two per cent of customers are still not covered by the scheme, because their telcos are not members.
