Auckland police are planning to formally recognise the actions of five teenagers who caught a robber when police could not be contacted during a Telecom breakdown.
The teenagers, caught the robber and dragged him to the New Lynn police station after he robber dairy owner Daniel Zheng, 45, at knifepoint on Monday.
Sergeant Grant Watson of New Lynn police said police were working through how they would formally acknowledge the youths for their actions.
