Two teenagers have been injured after the van they were in crashed into a power pole north of Wellington today.
The crash happened on Reynolds Street in Taita about 8.30am, an ambulance spokesman said.
A 17-year-old male suffered moderate arm injuries and a 16-year-old female suffered moderate lower leg and ankle injuries.
Both taken to Hutt Hospital for treatment.
A police spokesman said the van, which ended up on its side had pushed the power pole out of line.
The three occupants had been spoken with by police who were investigating the cause of the crash, he said.
Meanwhile, a 38-year-old man has suffered life threatening injuries after his car crashed south east of Auckland last night.
The crash happened after the man lost control of his vehicle and it rolled in Kaiaua at the Firth of Thames, about 10.15pm, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said.
He was flown to Auckland Public Hospital with chest and limb injuries.
Odours, broken handles and lids are among immediate concerns.
