Police say the death of a 16-year-old youth whose body was found near the Hutt River near Wellington is not suspicious.
Michael Lafou, of the nearby suburb of Naenae, was found next to the river in the Hutt Valley on Wednesday.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage as they seek to retrace his movements in the hours before his death but say a post-mortem examination carried out yesterday showed his death was not suspicious.
"We are speaking with witnesses and family members and are currently in the process of reviewing Hutt City Council CCTV footage of the area. There are several hours of footage to review and this is expected to take some time to complete,'' Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton said.
