Two teenagers allegedly crashed a stolen car into the side of a building in Nelson overnight.
The pair fled the scene on Parere St shortly after midnight, but were caught by police dogs.
"There was a vehicle that was stolen, it was crashed, and two teens were located as a result of tracking by the dog unit," Nelson duty sergeant Mike Wardle said.
"One of the boys, because of his age, was released into the care of his family, and the youth court process will be following that up this week.
"The other was put before the [Nelson] District Court Justice of the Peace this morning, and he has been granted bail to reappear later this week."
