Two teens who managed to crawl out from a car that flipped up to 200m on a quiet rural road escaped any serious injury.
The two teenagers had been travelling in the car along Snodgrass Rd at Te Puna at 11pm on Friday when they lost control at a bend in the road.
Omokoroa volunteer fire brigade chief Ian Blunt said speed appeared to have been a factor in the crash.
"The car rolled on a bend, went across the road and hit the water channel and flipped after that," Mr Blunt said.
The car landed about 200m away from the crash site.
