Three teenagers are in custody in Invercargill after being caught driving a stolen van almost 200km in the South Island.
Southern Police Senior Sergeant Brian Benn said the three boys, two aged 17 and one 16-year-old, were stopped by police near Invercargill about 4pm yesterday.
The trio had allegedly stolen the van in Dunedin before the 200km road trip.
"The van was reported by a member of the public as poor driving. We received a driving complaint," Mr Benn said.
"We stopped the van and realised the three young fellas had stolen the van from Dunedin and driven to Invercargill."
