Three teenagers had to be cut from a car after it collided with a tree in a serious crash near Turangi.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 4pm on Monday on Te Rangi Tautahanga Rd near the intersection with Hirangi Rd in Turangi.
Police said a grey Subaru Impreza - with three teenage boys from Turangi inside - crashed into a tree in the incident.
All three were trapped inside, in a critical condition, and had to be cut out by the Turangi Fire Service.
Three helicopters attended the scene and the injured teens were flown to Waikato Hospital.
