Four Southland teenagers were caught by police playing "dodgems" with two stolen cars in Invercargill early today.
The teenagers, aged 13, 14, 15 and 16, were caught ramming the cars against each other about 6am on Spey Street, Sergeant Peter Graham said.
"They were playing dodgems with two stolen cars, ramming each other."
The teenagers allegedly stole one of the cars on July 4 and the other one last night, he said.
Police believe they were also responsible for breaking into a boat and stealing a trailer and dumping it into the sea, he said.
The 13 year-old would be dealt with by Youth Aid and the others would appear in Youth Court, he said.
Investigations were continuing.
None of the teenagers was hurt in the incident.
