KEY POINTS:
Two teenagers who allegedly assaulted another boy so the attack could be posted on the YouTube website have been banned from communicating with the victim, including through electronic means.
The pair, aged 14 and 16, appeared yesterday in the Hastings Youth Court. Their names are automatically suppressed because they are minors.
They were remanded without plea until May 2, but subjected to several bail conditions, including that they not contact the 15-year-old they allegedly kicked and punched while up to 30 other youths watched and filmed the attack.
Judge Richard Watson said: "You're not to cause, incite or encourage any other person to make contact with the named victim."
The boys were arrested after police received a tipoff about the YouTube video a week ago.
The video has since been removed from the website.
