Two teenagers have been arrested and charged for carrying out a string of burglaries in Bay of Plenty.
The teens, 17 and 18, appeared in Tauranga District Court this morning charged in relation to nine house burglaries in Pukehina, about 50km southeast of Tauranga, in March and April.
They were remanded without plea.
Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Holmes of Te Puke police said the arrests followed the arrest of another Pukehina man in February for carrying out similar burglaries in the area. He was recently jailed for two years.
The charges followed a joint operation involving police from Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and Papamoa, who searched a number of Pukehina properties over the past week.
