A 24-hour crime spree in Purakanui near Dunedin has come to an end with the arrest of six offenders.
Police started receiving calls on Saturday night following a series of thefts, unlawful takings and burglaries.
Senior Sergeant Chris McLellan says three males and three females, aged between 15 and 18, have been charged with a range of offences.
"We had quite a reasonable police presence out there looking for six juvenile offenders. With lots of help from the locals we received several calls and we managed to locate those individuals at around about ten o'clock last night."
Mr McLellan says police are continuing to receive calls in relation to the crime spree.
