Police hope the arrest of three teenagers in relation to an after-ball party bashing in Grey Lynn that left a 17-year-old critically injured will ease tensions and plans for retribution.
Detective Senior Sergeant Gerry Whitley said police were aware of plans for possibly retribution this weekend, but he urged students to leave the matter with the courts.
Three teens, aged 15, 17 and 19, appeared in the Youth Court yesterday charged with assault. Police sought a two-week remand in custody. The hearing was adjourned until this morning and the trio were held in cells overnight.
