A teenager accused of murdering a two-year-old girl in March was today remanded in custody for a bail hearing.
Warick Ian Broadhurst, 18, appeared in Manukau District Court today charged with murdering Arwen Fletcher in Waiuku, 64km south of Auckland.
Broadhurst was remanded in custody to reappear on November 6 for a bail application. He made no plea but his lawyer indicated the charge would be denied.
Police said Arwen was admitted to Auckland's Starship Hospital with a skull fracture and an associated head injury on March 15 and died two days later.
