KEY POINTS:
A teenager who was driving the car that ploughed into and killed Christchurch city councillor and paralympian Graham Condon in September has admitted careless driving causing death.
The 16-year-old North Canterbury girl, who was 15 at the time of the crash, was disqualified from driving for two years, the press.co.nz website reported.
She also admitted careless driving causing injury to one of her four young passengers.
In the Youth Court at Rangiora, Judge John Strettell remanded her to June 5 so she could complete a plan of action agreed at a family group conference involving Mr Condon's widow, Kathy, and her family.
The terms of the plan were confidential.
Mr Condon, a popular and long-serving councillor and a paraplegic since childhood, was killed on September 8 when a car driven by the teenager crashed into him as he was riding his hand-pedalled road trike on one of his regular training runs.
In October, police said the teenager, who cannot be named because of her age, would be referred to the youth aid section.
A family group conference would be convened where "consideration would be given as to the most appropriate outcome," police said.
One option would be for the matter to be referred to the court.
