A teenager is back in police custody after escaping from police cells in Tauranga yesterday.
Samuel Peter Badawi, 17, escaped after appearing in court on burglary charges.
He was arrested in the Tauranga suburb of Cambridge Heights shortly after midnight and returned to the cells. He was due back in the District Court in Tauranga on Tuesday.
Badawi, two other 17-year-old men and a 16-year-old woman were arrested by police after a burglary on commercial premises in Mount Maunganui.
