Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl was assaulted by four men in Blenheim last night.
The woman was walking along Hutcheson Street at 6.30pm and ended up in the vehicle with the men, Detective Sergeant John Hamilton of Blenheim police said.
Details were still sketchy, he said.
The vehicle drove along Linton Street to the Waterlea racecourse where an assault took place.
The men were described as Maori or Polynesian and were in a white four door sedan.
The girl, in her mid-teens, was wearing green shorts and a multi-coloured top.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle or the girl.
Police would be talking with residents and examining the racecourse today, Mr Hamilton said.
