A teen crewman was crushed between a van and a truck as vehicles were offloaded from a SeaLink ferry this morning on Waiheke Island.
The 17-year-old was standing by the van as a truck came off the feerry. He was seriously injured and flown to Auckland City Hospital with pelvic injuries.
SeaLink chief executive Mark Gibson told the Herald he was aware of the accident and seeking further details.
WorkSafe senior communications adviser Julian Robins said initial information suggested the accident happened on the ferry.
The accident happened just after 8.15am at Kennedy Point in Surfdale.
A hospital spokeswoman said the teenager was now in a stable condition.
