A teenage worker remains in hospital after being seriously injured when he was hit by a digger bucket yesterday.
The man was working at a private address on Beach Road in Kaiapoi, 20km north of Christchurch when the accident happened about 11.20am.
He was taken to Christchurch Hospital's emergency department in a serious condition, a St John spokesman said.
A hospital spokeswoman said the man was in a serious but stable condition today.
Worksafe New Zealand had been notified and a spokesman said it was investigating.
