KEY POINTS:
A 17-year-old youth remains in custody after his arrest last week for a "wolf mask" incident at Orton Bradley Park, Charteris Bay.
Police opposed bail for Tony Tonihi when he came before Judge Michael Crosbie in Christchurch District Court this afternoon.
He is charged with wilful damage and using threatening language after the Friday afternoon incident on Charteris Bay Road in which members of the public confronted a carload of youths, including one wearing a wolf mask.
Three young men were remanded on bail at the weekend but Tonihi has been kept in custody, and defence counsel Ruth Buddicom sought to make an application today for him to be released on bail.
She said the police's summary of facts was not yet available though the police were able to hand the judge a written opposition to bail.
Judge Crosbie stood the matter down for more information and then remanded Tonihi in custody until 3pm on Thursday when he will hear the bail application.
He told police prosecutor Al Manco that the police must produce a summary of facts by then and give an indication about whether more serious charges will be laid.
