A teenager has been arrested after trying to rob an Upper Hutt dairy with an axe.
The 17-year-old is alleged to have entered the Akatarawa Dairy around 7:30 last night, wearing a disguise and carrying the weapon.
Once inside, it's claimed he demanded cash before being chased from the dairy by the owners.
Detective sergeant Richard Orr says the teen didn't take any money.
He says he was located shortly after the incident and was charged with assault and intent to rob.
