Police are speaking to three boys after a raid on the Timaru Boys' High School tuckshop in which the booty was carried off in the school wheelbarrow.
More than $1000 worth of goods, mainly sweets, cookies and drinks, were stolen when the thieves forced open the shop's roller door and helped themselves to the goods early yesterday, The Timaru Herald reported.
However, the noise awoke the school school caretaker who alerted police.
Sergeant Mylen Hamilton said police had interviewed three boys, aged between 13 and 15, and recovered some of the stolen food. He would not say if the boys were Timaru Boys High School pupils.
