A teenager accused of murdering a girl in Northland last November will stand trial in February.
The boy, whose name is suppressed, was 14 when he allegedly indecently assaulted and murdered 15-year-old Liberty Templeman in Kerikeri on November 1 last year. He appeared again in the High Court at Whangarei this morning.
The public gallery was filled with family and supporters of the Templeman family.
Liberty's parents Andrew and Rebecca and brother Billy, who now live in Auckland, were in the front row, and stared intently at the accused when he was led into the dock.
His trial has been set down for three weeks, beginning on February 8 next year.
