A teenager is in hospital after being stabbed in the neck at a rowdy party in Napier early today.
The 18-year-old man was stabbed during a confrontation at the party on the corner of Georges Drive and Rose St in the suburb of Marewa, Senior Sergeant Fred Vanduuren said.
The incident happened at about 3am.
The teen was taken to Hutt Hospital where he will have surgery for nerve damage.
Police appealed for witnesses and information.
The party reportedly had "some issues" before the stabbing happened, Mr Vanduuren told NZPA.
