Teen shooter sets 'perfect' record

Teen shooter Greg Bentley captured a perfect score to set a new club record at the Wairarapa Pistol and Shooting Sports Club last Saturday.
Bentley, 14, of Wairarapa, shot a possible 100 out of 100 at the Joy of Spring 100 bird sporting clay shoot using an Italian-made Breda 12-gauge shotgun supplied by Hayes and Associates.
This eclipses previous scores of 99 and two shoots of 98 achieved over the past 10 years by vastly experienced shooters, making Bentley's achievement quite remarkable.
Bentley, a Rathkeale College student, joined the club at the tender age of 8 already competent in firearms handling.
Thanks to continued family and club support, he has developed into a leading exponent of all forms of the sport, being also a keen rifle and pistol shooter.
