A Southland teenager who poured boiling water on her mother after an argument has been sentenced to intensive supervision.
Leiteishia Amiee Beckham, a 17-year-old from Bluff, appeared in Invercargill District Court for sentencing on a charge of injuring with intent to injure.
The court was told Beckham and her mother had argued on January 9 before the teenager grabbed a kettle, which had just been boiled, and poured it over her mother's back, the Southland Times reported.
Beckham then asked "did you like that?" before pouring more water on her.
