KEY POINTS:
A teenage security guard - promoted to team leader protecting the Canterbury District Health Board offices - was stealing cash and property on the job.
Mathew James Hayward, 19, now unemployed, admitted the thefts of the property he was guarding over 10 months.
Hayward was caught in July after he had stolen a cellphone and it was found bills for the phone were being sent to his home address, the Christchurch Court News website reported.
